A rainha Sílvia decidiu investigar por contra própria o passado de seu pai, devido a revelações no documentário da TV4 onde foi afirmado que o senhor Walter Sommerlath teria adquirido uma fábrica de judeus na Alemanha nazista em 1939.
Naquela época ocorria "Arianização" na Alemanha, quando os judeus tinham seus bens e propriedades tomadas e eram impedidos de possuir economia.
Segundo o documentário Walter, enquanto residia no Brasil em 1934 teria se unido ao Departamento de Estrangeiro do Partido Socialista Alemão no Brasil e quatro anos mais tarde retornava à Alemanha e para assumir mais uma fábrica metalúrgica que pertencia ao engenheiro judeu Efim Wechsler.
O porta-vóz da Corte, Bertills Ternet declarou que a rainha reagiu fortemente e junto à sua família decidiu coletar dados e fatos, tanto do Brasil quanto da Alemanha a respeito do que de fato aconteceu. Posteriormente a investigação será levada ao público.
