O departamento de Migração da Suécia, Migrationsverket passou a confeccionar desde 20 de maio de 2011 um cartão de Permissão de Residência.

Todo estrangeiro que receber a permissão para morar na Suécia deverá portar o seu cartão (UT-CARD) antes de entrar no país.

O cartão é biométrico é fornecido pelos Consulados de cada país e este possui fotografia e impressões digitais do portador.

Exceção:
Para os estrangeiros que não necessitam de visto o departamento decidiu que estes podem retirar o seu cartão de Permissão de Moradia nos escritórios do Migrationsverket.
